Photo 366 Blog
An Internet phenomenon which has taken the blogging world by storm of late has been ‘Photo 365′ a blogging activity where the participant posts one picture everyday of their year. This is meant to create a look back at your year in pictures. I’ve decided to take part in this activity, although I have missed a few days, I’m still going to try and take as much pictures as possible. The pictures can be of anything you see in your day which you feel may be interesting or just plain random!
Of course, this year is a leap year, meaning that this year it’s actually ‘Photo 366′!

Blog Upgrade
Welcome to the new blog. This blog recently moved hosts and due to an unfortunate failure of the WordPress automatic upgrade function, the old blog was lost. This site had been hosted with a budget hosting company called Purple Cloud – being a student at the time of purchasing this domain I couldn’t afford expensive hosting. Purple Cloud were recently taken over by UK company Krystal Hosting thus the host migration. To be fair Purple Cloud had been lacking and i had been unable to upgrade to the latest WordPress (3.3) as they didn’t have the required PHP version available. I am now able to run the recent WordPress profiles – theirs an upside to all this it seems!
This is a reminder to everyone – remember to backup! I had previously used the automatic upgrade feature on my old server without issue so assumed this would be fine. How wrong I was. Luckily, the last update to the blog was in June, and the content was primarily based around my degree’s honours project – which was completed sometime ago.
This site will now be used primarily as a blog, with little development work on it. I have now purchased a new domain www.rossmurray.me which will be my primary portfolio site. I anticipate launching this sometime in the first quarter of 2012. The domain is great for the social media age and is friendly and personable. I also wanted a domain without the hyphen as this should be easier for users to find, and the usual .com or .co.uk were not available.
So keep an eye out on this blog, which I will try to keep updated on a regular basis. Look out for web design tutorials and other random bits I think may be interesting!
Ross
